SERVICES OUR VISION FREE ARCHIVE PRICING UPLOAD
How long does it take to photograph my artwork? If you have an appointment it can usually be done in about a half hour. The focus and shooting takes 30-40 minutes and the auto color correction about 5 minutes more. We have a courtesy lounge with snacks and refreshments for our clients to relax while we work. You can watch us photograph your artwork if you’d like.

I have a drawing on paper can you photograph it? Of course. We use a vacuum easel to insure the drawing is as flat as possible while we photograph it.

Once I get a digital archive how long before I can have a proof? Usually under one hour.

How close will the proof be to the edition run? Our automated color correction system generates a very good proof in a short time. Its ability to make simultaneous color corrections at over 500 points is impressive. The color correction points are chosen to emphasise the most difficult colors and shades to photograph. Our printing systems are calibrated regularly using over 6000 reference point measurements. All of this technology plus the skill of our press operators enables us to (usually) proof a job in one pass plus have a press check of the first print in order to achieve a quality edition. Of course some colors simply are not printable and in those instances decisions regarding acceptable color differences, process or hand embellishment may have to be made. In all cases you decide when the proof meets your requirements.

How can you offer set-up charges for free? Our closed loop color management systems really work and that saves us a lot of time and materials. We do charge for proofs if we are not working with your original art or if we printing a digital file you supply.

Do I have to pay for the digital camera scan if I decide to make prints from an archive? No. If we produce the prints for you we do not charge for the artwork scan. You are under no obligation to purchase prints from us or pay for an archive scan unless you wish to have the file put on a CD and take it with you. You can decide to have the file put on a CD at any time. We include the calibration target file and reference files on the CD.

Do I have to get my canvas prints coated? Our canvas prints are not water soluble but we highly recommend coating them to protect the surface from scuffs or scratches. We can apply liquid lamination on site for a reasonable charge. You can also coat the canvas yourself or embellish it with texture or over painting. We recommend a final seal coat after embellishing any canvas giclée.

How long before I get my final prints? A lot depends on the size of the prints and of the run. On single prints it can take as little as an hour (often you can wait for them). Lead times can be as long as 3 weeks ( first print) during busy times . reorders are usually done in 3 day or less.

Do Gallery and Century plus prints look the same? Though the colors are similar the prints do not look the same. Because of the coating on the paper used for Century plus prints the inks stay on top of the paper. This makes a Century Plus print look more like a lithograph than an original. Gallery prints are dye based and the dyes soak well into the paper this makes them look more like an original painting.
