Gallery Print Giclée
Dye based printing process. Printed with Endurachrome dyes independently tested by the Wilhelm Imaging Research to last 75-80 years before noticeable fading occurs. Printed on a drum-based printers using 8 different inks. The ink set consists of three different shades of magenta, three different shades of cyan, yellow and black. This dye-based system is water-soluble so prints must be protected from moisture. Dye based prints are known for their saturated color quality and look like an original painting because the dyes actually soak well into the paper as true watercolours do.

Gallery prints are printed on actual watercolour paper sheet stock. We can print on Arches cold and hot press as well as Somerset velvet and just about any other sized water color sheet with a few days notice. Maximum sheet size is 34 x 46. These prints compare very favorably with Iris® prints.

The drum-based system has a unique ability to perfectly register multiple "hits" of the printing system. This feature allows Century Editions (or the artist) to print a ghost image, stop the printing and while the print is still mounted to the drum, add color by hand that would otherwise be impossible to print. The printing process then continues allowing detail to be printed on top of the hand embellishment, metallics, out of gamut colors and fluorescent colors can all be part of your Gallery Print Giclée. With multiple printers on site you can embellish one print while another printer prints a ghost image or finishes the overprinting step.

Century Editions is a division of Picture Yourself Inc. An Arizona Corporation founded in 1984.
